Approval Restrictions for Nutraceuticals and Supplements

The ability to sell nutraceuticals and supplement using Payments AI comes with some restrictions and requirements. You'll need to fulfill all the requirements below before your site can have final approval.

 

Requirements:

  • Functional website with working product pages, checkout, terms, privacy policy, refund policy, and contact information.
    • Refund policy must be clearly stated and not misleading.
    • Customer service contact must be visible (email + phone preferred).
  • Clear product labeling: ingredients, dosage, manufacturer information.
  • No medical or drug claims.
    • Red flags include: “cures,” “treats,” “reverses,” “prevents,” “diagnoses,” “eliminates,” etc.
    • Claims must stay within structure/function (e.g., “supports energy,” “helps maintain healthy joints”).
   

✅ Typically Allowed 

• Vitamins and minerals 

• Protein powders 

• Amino acids 

• Probiotics 

• Herbal supplements (no disease claims) 

• Functional foods (collagen, greens powders)

                               

Restrictions:

  • No CBD/THC, kratom, SARMs, peptides, “research chemicals,” prohormones.
  • No banned stimulants (DMAA, DMHA, ephedra).
  • No prescription-only or grey-market substances.


❌ Examples of items not allowed: 

• Cannabis, THC, Delta-8/9/10, HHC, THCP, Marijuana, CBD

• Prescription drugs or FDA-approved drug products 

• Injectable vitamins, IV therapy, hormone replacement 

• Weight-loss, fat burners, appetite suppressants 

• Sexual enhancement or testosterone products 

• Psychoactive or psychedelic substances (kratom, kava, amanita, salvia) 

• Medical treatments, med spas, injectables 

• Medical devices or diagnostic tests 

• Cosmeceuticals making drug or treatment claims 


Rolling Reserve:

  • All accounts selling nutraceuticals and supplements will require at least a 10% rolling reserve for 180 days. **This is at minimum; it could be higher depending on the business model or other indicators.
